OUR VISION
Our vision for the former Borough Green quarry is to transform this unique site into a natural, woodland-based landscape for people of all ages and abilities. At the heart of the design is a network of trails and cycling paths that flow organically through the existing woodland, following the contours of the quarry to create an immersive outdoor experience. Cyclists will enjoy routes suitable for all levels from gentle, meandering trails for families and casual riders to more challenging sections that take advantage of the quarry’s former excavations, offering thrilling descents and dynamic lines for experienced riders, all designed to feel completely integrated with the woodland environment. Walkers and nature enthusiasts will be able to wander along shaded, twisting paths, discovering quiet glades and hidden corners that invite reflection and connection with the forest.
The quarry will be experienced as a series of interconnected woodland zones. Trails will wind through mature trees, dense understorey, and natural clearings, creating a sense of exploration and discovery at every turn. Native planting will be encouraged to support local wildlife and strengthen the forest habitat, allowing the woodland to evolve naturally over time.
Sustainability and ecological restoration are central to the project. Careful clearance of waste and debris will allow the woodland to thrive, while existing habitats are protected and strengthened.
